San Diego Shoulder Institute (SDSI) is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit medical education organization, whose mission is to improve the quality of shoulder care by offering exceptional educational experiences to orthopaedic physicians. SDSI’s main focus is on an annual four-day course that brings together the best orthopaedic surgeons to present the most recent technological advances in shoulder care. The course combines lecture, skills laboratories (in both shoulder model and cadaver options), workshops, case presentations, and exhibit areas as arenas for learning. SDSI collaborates with the University of California San Diego School of Medicine to conduct the cadaver laboratory experience. Each year, approximately 400 surgeons from International locales attend the course.
