Annual Meeting Program Information

Topics include: Arthroplasty, fracture treatment, instability, rotator cuff repair, biceps, SLAP, frozen shoulder, and more… Recommended for participation: Submit 6 PPT image/video slides to SDSI prior to course. Include brief patient history, treatment, patient outcome and questions for panel. Ensure no patient identifiable information or company trade names are presented in slides. Presentations will be reviewed prior to presentation and are limited to 15 minutes per case. Pre-registration required to present cases. This skills-based training session demonstrates current techniques to treat shoulder arthritis and trauma. Participants are exposed to multliple equipment options to practice arthroplasty and fracture fixation techniques. Benefit from our expert faculy who will provide specific feedback to help improve your practice.

Attendees will select specific equipment to review current technological advances and surgical techniques in shoulder arthroplasty.
Arthroscopy Model Laboratory
Select specific equipment to learn arthroscopy expertise by individualized instruction on a shoulder model. Held Wednesday morning, this laboratory is based on identified needs of arthroscopic shoulder surgeons for a specific technique. Instructors will teach the steps of their preferred technique using shoulder models. There will be two registrants for each shoulder model. Arthroscopic cameras, anchors, and repair instruments of only one manufacturer will be available in each lab.

Held at UCSD Medical School lab on Friday morning and afternoon. These cadaver surgery labs teach diagnostic and operative techniques of shoulder arthroscopy. Two registrants per arthroscopic station will be assigned in these laboratories. An instructor is available for every 4 registrants. This Cadaver Surgery Arthroscopy Lab is limited to 76 registrants for each of the two sessions.
Bus Transportation is provided from the hotel to the UCSD laboratory. The bus will leave the hotel at 8:00 a.m.

In the USCD laboratory setting, specimens will be provided for dissection, open reconstructive techniques, and/ or arthroplasty in groups of three-six persons. Session provides individualized instruction by expert faculty.
